Roughcast Rendering Dalkeith House

Roughcast Rendering Dalkieth House – Midlothian Roofing Services were asked to carry out roughcast rendering on a house in Dalkieth. Prior to project start is a before photograph of the property in Dalkieth that shows the existing render from when the property was built in the early 50’s. Both neighbours had had their homes rendered which made our customers house look dull and dated.

With full scaffolding now erected our team of roofers from

Midlothian Roofing Services team tackled the removal of all existing render using appropriate tools and methods to ensure no damage to existing brick work, the area is then thoroughly cleaned and coated with a mortar scratch coat to seal.

New beads are secured to all corners, bell casts and stop ends using IDP fixings, these provide a neat finish and stronger edge detail coated to a scratch finish and allowed to fully set.

Once scratch coating has fully set a new coating of render is applied to all internal openings tooled to a smooth float finish.

New float finish detail has been allowed to set for a twelve hour period.

Rendering works progressing nicely with a buff coloured mortar and a new amber Baltic chipping stone.

The front elevation is now completed and blends in perfectly with both neighbouring properties; these works are issued with a full 10 year Guarantee with a life expectancy of 50 years.

New render works to the rear elevation are now completed, as the rear elevation is shaded this is taking slightly longer to dry out but is slowly drying to match both neighbouring properties.
